Responsibilities
- Prepare an Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI) on the natural resource characteristics and environmental features of Hopewell Township
- Advise the planning and zoning boards about the impacts of proposals for development on such issues as flooding and runoff, open space needs, water and air quality, and plant and animal habit
- Investigate environmental problems and offer solutions
- Educate and inform residents on ways to help protect the environment
- Advocate planned open space preservation
Private Well Outreach Project
The State of New Jersey, Department of Health conducted Private Well Testing in 2022 for Hopewell Township. A presentation was made to the Environmental Commission at its April meeting. A copy of that presentation can be found by clicking on the link below.
Meetings
The Environmental Commission meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm (unless otherwise specified). The meetings take place at the Township Offices, 590 Shiloh Pike, Bridgeton, New Jersey. If there are any questions, please contact Jerry at (609) 247-3903.
